The Floor Manager Of The Crew - 1597 Words

During the News broadcast, I was the floor manager of the crew, this basically put me in charge of all the cameramen, lighting assistants and presenters. Not wanting to do this job in the first place did make me worried and nervous for it. During the first lesson in the studio, I did hold back a bit as I was unsure of my job roles. To get around this I could have easily had researched my roles as floor manager and not just have guessed them. Doing this role again in the future I would be more aware of all the potential health and safety dangers in the TV Studios; wires, hanging lights and equipment are all potential dangers so I would be much more observant and alert the crew more often of the risks thus lowering accidents and not stop rehearsal time. I also aided in researching for the first broadcast, researching from the go I found the story on Alabama Rot which we then emailed for an interview, this was very organised and allowed us to get the very first VT. Annoyingly the interviewee was looking all over the place and with myself on camera I should have made it clear where she should have been looking, would have made the interview look more professional.
